New Features

Highlights

Our updates and new features focus on minimizing the friction between idea and execution. These highlights optimize both your workflow in the editor and the end-user experience.

Excursions - Deep-Dive Content via Overlays

With the new Excursions feature, you can implement additional layers of information without interrupting the narrative flow of your main story. This allows you to provide supplementary content as an overlay. Your audience decides how deep they want to dive: an excursion can be closed at any time, returning the reader exactly to where they left off.

It’s the perfect way to integrate background info, deeper insights, or audiovisual extras. Excursions can be linked via teaser lists, hotspots, CTA buttons, or text links.

Layout Precision: Total Control Over Padding & Margin

Great design is defined by balance. We’ve simplified spacing controls to give your stories the "room to breathe" they deserve. Section padding: Use intuitive sliders to define the space within sections. Ensure your text and graphics maintain a clean distance from the edges for maximum readability.

Content element margins: You can now set individual margins for every single content element. Whether you want to tuck elements closer together or create intentional distance—the choice is yours.

This level of precision creates a clean, structured look that guides your audience effortlessly through the story.

Counter Element - Data Visualization that Sticks

Data often feels static, yet it usually represents the most dynamic part of a story. Our revamped Counter Element brings facts to life. With the new "odometer" animation, digits spin like a mechanical counter—perfect for a dynamic storytelling experience.

You also have full creative freedom: values, units (like % or €), and descriptions can be configured separately and color-coordinated with your design.

Plus, you control the trigger: should the animation start as soon as it enters the viewport or only when it reaches the center of the screen? You’re in control of the impact.

Split Overlays & Transparent Cards

Sections now feature a Split overlay option, covering half the viewport width to make your content pop against background images or videos.

Additionally, you can now choose any overlay color for Cards and Split sections—including transparency. Opt for a semi-transparent hue to let the background peek through and activate the background blur for a sleek, modern finish.

Overview

New Features

In addition to the major highlights, there were many smaller improvements that we thematically bundle here for better overview and link to the corresponding entries in our changelog:

Interaction & Layout

A scroll indicator signals at the end of the first section that there is more to come. With the call-to-action button you can set attention-grabbing links, the social media post element combines embeds from Twitter/X, TikTok, Bluesky, and Instagram into one component.

Navigation & Structure

The footer bar guides users further at the end, permalink directories organize your story URLs by language or category and chapters can be converted into excursions or back. The new action menus consolidate delete, duplicate, and insert functions in one place.

Settings & Design

Under default settings for new elements you can define default values for new sections and content. The option backdrop below the navigation ensures that important image motifs are not obscured by a fixed navigation bar. The audio player offers additional waveform color options and an invertible play button.
